SA-Eyre Peninsula-Venus Bay

The caravan park is directly on the beautiful bay and looks out on to the many small islands, jetty and sand banks.
There are very few shade trees and the ground is fine shells and gravel so you definitely need to use the outdoor flooring.
We had a perfect spot beside a large tree on the shoreline so we could sit and watch the water activities and the pelicans. I was told that it is known as the “tree of knowledge” because people sit under it and share stories. I can imagine that it is more “yarn” sharing than anything else.
The office has a shop as well as a restaurant which is so handy.
An old and small amenities block but well kept.
The water here is not drinkable with very poor water pressure so fill up your tanks before you arrive. They do have rain water available for cooking and drinking.
There is good fishing off the jetty if you don’t have a boat.
Another inexpensive park at $22.00 per night.
